Flu vaccines are now available
Owensboro Pediatrics has received a shipment of flu vaccines for all age patients from 6 months and older. We are giving the quadrivalent flu shot only . This vaccine protects against 4 strains of the flu virus rather than just three strains as previous vaccines. This is the recommendation of the Immunization Advisory Committee because the nasal spray vaccine was not very effective last year. All children should receive the vaccine, especially those children at high risk of complications from the flu.
